Preparing for your visit

In preparation for an on-site evaluation visit, an institution must collect additional information not included in the self-study or update information submitted to the team members. This information, such as faculty and staff files and meeting minutes, must be available in the team's work room. ACICS provides institutions with a list of these materials that varies depending on the type of evaluation visit.

In addition, after a visit has been conducted, ACICS asks each institution to prepare an evaluation of the visiting team. This information is important in measuring the effectiveness of the evaluation teams. This information is held in confidence and has no bearing on any decision by the Council. Finally, ACICS provides institutions with assistance in preparing a response to the Council. The response must be professional and organized and provide details of changes made to correct areas of noncompliance from the team report.

Evaluation Visit Update Report

Prior to any evaluation visit, an institution should forward the Evaluation Visit Update Form directly to each team member at least ten (10) days prior to the scheduled visit. Institutions with multiple locations must complete a separate report for the main campus and for each additional location.

The Evaluation Visit Update Form consists of an update of the current enrollment by full-time and part-time status and by day and evening, a class schedule that will be in effect on the day or days of the visit, a copy of the most recent catalog, a list of the faculty and administrative staff hired since the submission of the self-study, a current Institutional Effectiveness Plan, and a description of all the significant changes that have occurred since the submission of the application materials.
