Becoming a Partner

To: Institutions whose accreditation is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education

Re: Transfer Alliance

Despite the modest progress in transfer-of-credit, the issue remains an important challenge for students who graduate from nationally-accredited institutions and wish to continue their education. ACICS is proposing a strategy that may facilitate and strengthen transfer of credit between and among institutions whose accreditation is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE).

While most accredited institutions eagerly support students’ interests in continuing their education, we believe a ready source of those institutions identified as Transfer Alliance partners would be useful to students and administrators. The Transfer Alliance partners would agree upon transfer criteria. They would agree to consider accepting, in transfer, degrees and credits that were earned by students “in good standing” from other Transfer Alliance institutions.

The attached Transfer Alliance proposal provides additional information for your review and comments. After reading the attached proposal, you may express your interest in the Transfer Alliance project by completing the Transfer Alliance Partner Interest Survey.
