New Commissioner Bios

Seth Balogh has worked in the private post-secondary education sector for Westwood College Online, Brookline College and Bryan University. Dr. Balogh holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology with a double major in Psychology from Baldwin-Wallace College and a master’s and doctorate in Biobehavioral Science from the University of Connecticut. He served as ACICS Commissioner in 2010 and 2011, and as ACICS evaluator for several years. He has also served on the Intermediate Review Committee.

Julie Blake has served as Vice President of Operations at Eagle Gate College Group in Salt Lake City since 2007. She previously served as Senior Vice President of Marketing and Admissions at Neumont University in Salt Lake City and Morrison University in Reno, Nevada. Prior to 2002 Ms. Blake held various management positions at 3Com Corporation, American Express Company and Kimberly-Clark Corporation. Ms. Blake earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota and has completed the coursework toward an MBA at Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee. She has served as an ACICS evaluator since 2009.

LaShondra Peebles has served as Director of Compliance and Vice President for Enrollment and Student Affairs at Chicago State University since 2011. Prior to her work for CSU, Ms. Peebles served as Compliance Officer at the Office of the Cook County Compliance Administrator, and as Assistant Director of Regulatory Affairs and Compliance at Education Management Corporation. Ms. Peebles also served as a manager and faculty member at the American Intercontinental University Online Law Department, as a professional mediator, Director of Academic Enrichment at the Institute for Community at HighPoint, and an assistant professor at the Illinois State University College of Business. Ms. Peebles earned her J.D. from the University of Illinois, and a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Michigan.
 
Miguel Angel Rivera is currently the Vice-president of Academic Affairs at Dewey University in Puerto Rico. Prior to his appointment as Vice-president, he served as the Director of Planning, Development and Compliance at Dewey University. He also held a number of positions working in the field of juvenile justice in Puerto Rico and Georgia, and worked as a faculty member at Universidad del Este in Puerto Rico. He has been an evaluator for ACICS for the past four years. Mr. Rivera holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Sciences from the University of Puerto Rico, Master of Arts in Criminal Justice from the Inter American University of Puerto Rico and a Master of Arts in Sociology from The American University in Washington DC. Prof. Rivera completed the Program for Senior Executives in State and Local Government at the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University.

Dennis Trinkle has served as Chief Academic Officer and Provost at Harrison College since 2009. Before that, he was CEO of the Indiana Higher Education Telecommunications System (IHETS), CIO and Professor at Valparaiso University, and CIO and Associate VP for Academic Affairs at Depauw University. He also served in executive positions with the American Association for History and Computing.  Dr. Trinkle holds a Ph.D. and an M.A. from the University of Cincinnati, an MBA from the University of Phoenix, and a B.A. from DePauw University.

Beth Wilson has been with CCi since 1995. Prior to her role as EVP of Operations, Ms. Wilson was Operations VP and Regional Operations Director. Prior to joining CCi, Ms. Wilson was Executive Director and Area Operations Manager of the National Education Centers (NEC).  She also served as National College's Vice President of Branch Operations, and as Executive Director, Group Manager and Vice President of Administration at United Education and Software's Business School. She earned a master’s degree in Business Administration from National University and a bachelor’s degree from California State College. She has served on the Board of Directors for Career Colleges Association and as a commissioner for the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC).
