About the Conference

ACICS is proud to present the “Student Success: It Takes a College,” Professional Development Conference. This conference is designed to fortify connections between educational quality, institutional effectiveness, and the success of students served by ACICS colleges and schools.

Workshops and discussion forums:
      • The art of teaching and the science of learning
      • Planning and achieving institutional effectiveness
      • The economic realities of gainful employment and placement in field
      • Retention begets completion begets employment
      • Transparency in recruitment and admissions

The conference will provide administrative and academic professionals an opportunity to explore the dimensions of student success from the perspective of hands-on practitioners. Conferees will be engaged in dialogue with leading authorities in career education, from administrators to faculty members, from admissions specialists to placement managers. From the first encounter with a recruitment professional to the exit interview with a career services placement specialist, the successful career college student is supported by a holistic, integrated institution that harnesses a full array of resources and best practices. Student success is not an accident; it takes an entire college or school – a strong institution with every department and employee working collaboratively – to ensure the success of students.

Registration for “Student Success: It Takes A College,” the 2011 ACICS Professional Development Conference in Charleston, South Carolina is now open.

     Early Bird Registration: $550 for two-days in the Home of Low Country Cuisine! ($600 after August 31.)

     The workshop registration fee includes all workshop materials, continental breakfast and lunch. 
     Registration fees do not include transportation or hotel accommodations. It is important to register 
     early to ensure your space at the conference.

     How to Register
     If you need assistance in registering for the conference, please read our instructions page carefully. 
     Those familiar with ACICS workshops and have an account can proceed by logging in to our member portal here.

     If you have not received a confirmation letter, you are not officially registered. 
     Please do not make hotel or airline reservations if you did not receive a email confirmation.

     Refund and Cancellation Policy
     If you enroll in the conference and cannot attend, you may transfer your registration to another individual or cancel. 
     All requests for cancellations and substitutions must be made in writing, please send them via email to A full refund of your registration fee will be granted if written notice of cancellation is received 
     no later than seven (7) days prior to the conference. Cancellation requests received after the seven (7) day cutoff 
     will receive a full refund less an administrative fee of $100. All refunds will be issued after the conference has 
     concluded. No refund requests will be honored for registrations canceled after the conference has taken place.
