Status of Recognition by the U.S. Department of Education of ACICS as a reliable authority on institutional quality and integrity

Below is the motion passed by the National Advisory Committee on Institutional Quality and Integrity (NACIQI) on June 8, 2011 following its review of the ACICS petition for continued recognition:

I move that the NACIQI recommend that ACICS's recognition be continued to permit the agency an opportunity to, within a 12 month period, bring itself into compliance with the Criteria cited in the staff report and that it submit for review a compliance report demonstrating  compliance with the cited Criteria and their effective application. I further move that the NACIQI recommend deferral of a decision concerning the agency's request for expansion of scope pending receipt of the compliance report and consideration of the materials contained in it, to such time that the agency submits said request for expansion of scope.

The recommendation has been forwarded to the Senior Department Official for his consideration. A final decision and notification of ACICS is anticipated by September 2011.
