Title IV Accountability: Outreach to Puerto Rico Institutions

Serving students effectively while fulfilling obligations as a fiduciary of public resources is a substantial responsibility of independent colleges and schools that participate in Title IV student financial aid programs. Nearly 100 individuals from ACICS institutions who attended special workshops in San Juan in late February learned more about the depth and breadth of expectations attached to Title IV funding. The presenters were Agent Robert Wolfe of the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Inspector General and Michael Hays, Cooley LLP, an attorney specializing in higher education compliance issues. In addition, member institutions learned more about the enhancements and innovations to the ACICS program of review for institutional effectiveness planning from Dr. Joseph Gurubatham, Senior Vice President for Accreditation and Institutional Development; and Ms. Perliter Walters-Gilliam, Senior Manager of Quality Enhancement.
