Statement Regarding the Accreditation Status of Computer Systems Institute

Statement Regarding the Accreditation Status of Computer Systems Institute, Gurnee, IL and its three branch campuses (Chicago, Skokie and Elgin)
accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS):

Accreditation Status
As indicated in the ‘Directory of Institutions’ information at www.acics.org, CSI has been accredited by ACICS since 2014 and the current grant of accreditation expires December 31, 2017.

Whenever ACICS encounters information that calls into question an institution’s ability to remain in compliance with ACICS published standards, the Council will take appropriate action.

CSI has been ordered to show cause why its accreditation from ACICS should not be withdrawn. The institution has been afforded due process protections that enable CSI to appear before the Council at its next regular meeting, the week of April 4, 2016, and make its case for keeping its accreditation intact. The institution and all stakeholders, including students, faculty and staff, will be notified of the Council’s decision within 30 days of the April meeting.

In addition, ACICS has directed CSI to submit for Council approval a plan for ensuring the continuation or completion of the education of all students currently enrolled at all four campuses in the event CSI elects to suspend or cease operations, or is forced to cease or suspend operations.
