ACICS ITT Press Release

On September 6, 2016 the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (“ACICS”) learned that, with few exceptions, ITT Technical Institutes is closing all campuses effective that date.  

“The ACICS Commission and staff are deeply concerned about the students and committed to doing all we can to assist them during this transition,” said Roger J. Williams, Interim President of ACICS.  “Everyone at ACICS takes this situation very seriously. The tragedy that thousands of students are just beginning to face surely brings with it tremendous uncertainty and frustration. We are working diligently, with government officials, ITT personnel and other education institutions to identify ways to best serve the students as they seek a quality educational experience.”

http://www.acics.org/news/content.aspx?id=6769 to access important information regarding available options to complete their programs of study at other institutions as well as links to state and federal information. The site is preliminary and will be updated as regularly as possible. Students will also find links to information about federal student aid and loan discharges on the Department of Education's website studentaid.gov/ITT or by calling 1-800-4-FEDAID. Over the next weeks and months. ACICS will continue to coordinate its efforts with state agencies, other accrediting organizations and the U.S. Department of Education to help students.
