“On Aug. 19, 2022, the U.S. Department of Education terminated federal recognition of the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS). SEVP will directly communicate with impacted SEVP-certified schools, either through a Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) Broadcast Message or a Request for Evidence. As these notices are issued in the coming weeks, schools are instructed to monitor their emails for SEVIS-generated messages. Any questions can be directed to SEVP with the subject line “ACICS Question” to sevp@ice.dhs.gov.”

For questions regarding your status as a result of ACICS’s loss of recognition, please contact your DSO or PSDO. There are also some helpful links below: Steps 7-9: While in the United States.
